Dear Restoration family and friends,

Wow! It’s difficult to put into words the incredible experience that occurred this past Sunday. First, there was a joyful anticipation in the air as people began to trickle in. As I walked in the worship center during the welcome, I could see a hopefulness in people’s expressions. When I welcomed several guests and began the message God had written on my soul, I fully realized just how excited I was. I tried, without success, to limit the emotions and vision that burst forth from my heart. (Just click HERE if you missed it and are curious if I am serious.)

Following the energetic and emotional message and music, we moved into the special business meeting. We affirmed and welcomed 4 new members, presented the building purchase details and the 2022-23 budget. The congregation engaged in good discussion around the building as well as the budget. After each discussion, Leadership Team Chair Amy Zaffke called for a vote and, PRAISE THE LORD, both votes achieved a unanimous, YES!

Congratulations Restoration, we are almost to our new home!

These affirming votes come with several next steps. First, many of you have responded to the financial challenge that the building and budget bring for the upcoming year. We are 75% of the way to our $145,000 in one-time gifts for the phase I costs for the closing and renovation. Also we are 75% of the way to our target of $3,000 in ongoing monthly need. Thank you for your generosity. Our prayer and desire is for all of us to be able to participate. Please ask God how he would like you to participate and respond HERE.

Second, our authorized signers will sign closing, loan and property documents on Tuesday, October 4. This is a sacred moment for you to join in prayer… not only for Restoration, but also for the congregation of Faith Lutheran Church as they close.

Third, we will be creating a schedule for work days in October and November. This will include interior organization and clean out, interior demolition and renovation, and exterior clean up and yard work. We need your help, as many hands will make light the work. This is also an easy invite with your circles of influence. People who are spiritually curious or seeking, who may not say yes to a Bible study, small group or worship service, but who may say yes to swinging a hammer, sweeping a broom or pulling weeds.

As I said Sunday, God wants us to trust him with each step. He is responsible for the outcome, we are responsible for our obedience. Let’s step forward obediently where he is asking us to go for his glory and honor.

With much hope,

Rob
