Romans 12:2a NLT  Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

God’s word will transform you… if you let it.

Two of the most effective ways I let God change the way I think is with a daily verse and divine declarations.

Divine Declarations

The world tries to tell you who you are, so why not tell yourself who you are based on what God has said in his word you are? These declarations or affirmations come directly from God’s word or are adapted from God’s word. They cleanse, recalibrate and restore your mind.

Here’s a few of the divine declarations I use:

  • God loves me unconditionally and delights in me. John 3:16
  • I am a child of God and a son/daughter of the King of Kings! 1 John 3:1
  • God lives in me through His Holy Spirit who leads and empowers me. 1 John 4:4
  • Jesus is first and central in my life. I exist to serve and glorify Him. Luke 9:23
  • I take time to be with and listen to God each day. Mark 3:14
  • I approach God humbly and boldly, trusting in his faithfulness (not my goodness). Hebrews 4:16
  • I am secure in Christ, now and forever. God will never leave or forsake me. Deuteronomy 31:6
  • God designed who I am and enables me by his Spirit to become that human. Philippians 1:6
  • The spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me. Romans 8:11
  • I am a new creation in Christ—the old is gone, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
  • I enthusiastically wake up with purpose, direction and meaning every day of my life, because God meets my need for peace, purpose and power.  Jeremiah 29:11
  • My body is a temple of the a Holy Spirit. I honor this temple with rest, exercise and healthy eating. 1 Corinthians 6:19
  • I live to please God, not people. 1 Thessalonians 2:4
  • My words, thoughts and imagination are under the power of Christ. I take thoughts captive and make them obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5
  • I’m not defined by my failures or successes; I’m defined by God.
  • I am not a spectator standing on the sidelines of life… I am a spirit-filled, Christ-centered, kingdom contributor!
