Facilities Team Update
The facilities task force team is very excited to re-introduce our Facilities updates in News and Notes. It has been quite some time since we have written an update, but God has been stirring, moving and preparing us. As of our last update, nearly a year ago, we were on the precipice of setting foot onto our temporary oasis that appeared to us on our journey to a more permanent destination for Restoration to call home. We would be remiss if we didn’t start this update by expressing deep gratitude to Mercy Road Church for hosting us with open arms and sharing their space when we needed it.
As comfortable as our oasis has been, prayer and work toward the goal of a more permanent home never ceased and after literal years of cumulative searching and at a time no one could have predicted, a really really exciting option presented itself and we began to research the property, finding it to be a great fit to what we had been looking for all this time BUT we had to act fast. The timing was fortunate as it was just before our annual Vision Meeting Sunday and so, we were able to present this option to the congregation with a vote to formally pursue this opportunity. If you missed this service or want to know more about the building itself, we encourage you to watch the recording HERE. The votes were tallied and a unanimous result said: PURSUE.
So we did. We pursued and secured the option to move forward with this property, crafting a letter of intent and offer that met the needs of the selling church and so, they signed our letter of intent to purchase, choosing to work with us toward a mutually agreeable purchase agreement. This was and is monumental and worthy of praise to God! A huge first step towards something great, that also set into motion quite a few individual, detailed, wordly steps that needed to happen for it to become a reality, perhaps the largest of which was: the selling congregation needed to vote to approve our proposed terms in the purchase agreement or we would NOT be able to proceed further.
The terms of our purchase proposal were poured over and prayed over by the entire facilities team, our selected attorney, our real estate agent and a representative from our denomination to ensure we crafted a safe, secure, fair and straightforward agreement to purchase that would not only garner their acceptance, but allow us ample time to conduct our due diligence of obtaining necessary inspections, surveys, renovation cost estimates, loan finalization, budget analysis, begin a fundraising plan and make a final vote as a congregation to make this building our home. After many revisions, we submitted our final draft, with an abundance of faith, to be put to their vote which occurred last Sunday. We are beyond pleased to give this incredible update received just yesterday: their congregation also unanimously voted yes and echoed the word: PURSUE.
WHAT’S NEXT? The immediate next step since they have approved our terms is them signing the purchase agreement, that we will also sign once received, followed by making our earnest money deposit that is refundable based on the results of our 60 days of due diligence and congregational vote. We will continue diligently learning about this property on a deeper level to ensure it meets the needs of Restoration and that we can, as accurately as possible, know the critical facts and figures to budget, forecast and proceed confidently. Further updates about progress during due diligence will be sent out in News and Notes periodically as we cross major milestones. Likewise, an exciting opportunity will be presented for each one of us to consider participating financially–both in short term and long term ways-as well as a chance to learn about other methods to fundraise for the capital needs of the building. Please begin asking God how you and your family can financially, physically and spiritually be involved. We know not everyone can give equal amounts of money, time and prayers, but we are praying and asking for 100% involvement.
The resounding prayer of the Facilities Team as we eye these next steps is for God’s will to be clear as we work through many tasks. That each step would be like a door, opening to a clear path forward to his will. That we continue reminding ourselves that a building for Restoration is not the be-all or end-all, but rather a home base and tool for the mission of Restoration to join with Jesus to transform communities. Please join us in those prayers!

Decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need. We encourage you to consider giving online so that your giving is regular and easy to manage – it’s easy to sign up HERE. You can also Text to Give by texting any dollar amount to 84321.

What’s Happening in Restoration Kids This Summer
This summer, elementary kids will be having theme nights during our regular class time. Kids will still be sent from worship to their class after songs but things will look a little different. Each Sunday night will have a theme and fun activities that correspond with that theme. This is a great way to make new friends and build community among our kids!
Our July theme nights are:
- July 17: Ice Cream Sunday
- July 24: Christmas in July
Summer Pop-Ups!
This summer, Restoration Kids will be hosting Summer Pop-Ups to have fun and build community among our families. What is a Pop-Up event? A Pop-Up is a little party that we will be throwing somewhere in the area. From parks to the zoo, we will meet up around town to hang out with other Restoration Kids families. These are great events to invite your friends and neighbors! Don’t miss these upcoming Summer Pop-Ups:
- Wednesday, July 27 | Apple Valley Water Park
- Wednesday, August 10 | Alimagnet Park
Restoration Student Parents!
I have a question for you and your students: for our COMBINED back to school fall event on Saturday, August 27, I thought it would be fun to have a tournament! I’m thinking Kickball or Wiffleball!? Will you ask your student what they think would be fun? Maybe they have a different idea? My goal is that this event would be something your student would WANT to invite their friends to, so please let me know what they think. You can send me an email or text me: 352.408.8720
