Facilities Team Update
The pedal is to the metal friends! The facilities task force team has been working through the due diligence list on the path to purchasing this building. Please be praying for the team and specifically asking God how you/your family can financially partner to reach our funding goals.
Here are a few noteworthy items:
- We have had the building inspected and while there are a few notes, there were no major red flags! In fact, our very experienced inspector said it was built VERY well and should be quite energy efficient due to its construction. We are getting estimates on the items of concern.
- The land survey was completed this week as well as a few meetings with contractors for initial remodeling budgets and timelines to make the building our own in form, feel and function. This renovation will create a warm and welcoming lobby, a larger worship capacity for us to invite a friend, neighbor or co-worker, and fun-filled, awe-inspiring places for the next generation to know and grow in Christ. We also plan to have contractors layout ideas for expansion and the city of Lakeville has already provided great information on what is possible so that we may know our long term options for growing with the property.
- We know some of you want to see the inside of the space! We have two site visits planned—open house style for you to come and see: Thursday 8/18, 7-8PM and Saturday 8/27, 9-10AM.
- Lastly, the seller provided historical operating and maintenance costs from the past few years so we are finalizing the numbers for our 2022-23 budget as well as what we need to raise for closing costs and improvements. Our plan is to share those in the coming weeks and before the building and budget vote, scheduled for Sunday, September 11!
Restoration, we are close! I believe this is the right place, in the right area, at the right time for the right mission to reach and restore people in Jesus.

Are you ready to take your Next Step at Restoration?
If you have found a home at Restoration, would you consider becoming a member of Restoration Covenant Church?
Church membership is about joining with fellow Christ-followers making a commitment to this local church. When we covenant, or commit to each other, it shifts our identity from a “friend of the family” to “family member”. Through this commitment, we are better together, we put down roots for strong spiritual growth, and we join Christ in declaring our love for the Church that He gave his life for.
Becoming a member at Restoration involves a hybrid class of online self-study and one, in-person two-hour class. We are offering the in-person class on Monday August 21 from 7:00-9:00 pm, or Thursday, August 25 from 10:00 am-noon or Thursday, August 25 7:00-9:00 pm at Restoration.
If you are interested in exploring membership with Restoration, please contact ChristaYoung@restorationcov.org for access to the online material and to register for one of the in-person sessions.

Outdoor Worship and Baptism service will be August 28, 2022 at 10am at Central Park in Rosemount, MN
Baptism is a very important spiritual milestone for a person who has come to know and love Jesus Christ. If you have felt God’s call to take this step our outdoor worship and baptism service is a great time to do that. This gives us the opportunity to celebrate with you as a church family and rejoice in this important next step.
Do you have questions about being Baptized? Pastor Rob would love to have a conversation with you! Contact Pastor Rob to start the conversation.
After the Outdoor Worship service you can set up your Lawn Chairs, Blankets and a picnic lunch for your family. Restoration will provide Lemonade, Water and Chips.

Hey Restoration! It is that time of year again! Time to bless Westview Elementary School Kids with new shoes and backpacks for the school year! The Westview staff, parents, and students hugely appreciate our generous donations of shoes and backpacks each year. Westview principle Tami Staloch-Schultz recently shared with me that “donations of shoes and backpacks are appreciated as they really help balance the beginning of the year needs and anxiety of some families.”
There are a few ways you can get involved this year…
- Purchase brand new athletic shoes (any child size 1-7) and/or brand new backpacks and bring them to church on Sunday mornings.
- Donate money to be used for the purchase of shoes and backpacks-donations can be brought to church on Sunday mornings. To donate money online use the drop down menu to select Westview Backpacks and Shoes.
- Drop off shoes/backpacks/monetary donations at the Jacobson home (14230 Audobon Way, Rosemount) or any Sunday at church. Call Michele at 952-649-1369 to schedule a time to drop off.
- Deadline to drop off shoes, backpacks and donations is August 21, 2022
I hope you will consider donating to this important outreach! It has been a joy to be able to serve the students and staff at Westview Elementary over the last decade. It is because of your generosity that students are able to start the school year with their needs met and with reduced anxiety. Your generosity has also helped to facilitate a positive relationship between our church staff and the Westview staff. Those positive relationships have allowed us to continue to serve the people of Westview and help in times of need. Thank you for your generosity over the years! Please reach out to me with any questions- thank you!
