Sabbath Sunday

Friends, did you know the longest of the 10 commandments is the command to ‘honor the Sabbath and keep it holy’? Jesus tells his students that the Sabbath is made for humans, not humans for the Sabbath. So what does it mean to honor the Sabbath and keep it holy? Tune in online Sunday to hear Pastor Rob share his understanding of that question. Click here to jumpstart your understanding with an excellent video on Sabbath from the Bible Project. And start praying about what your sabbath activities could look like this God and others:

  • It could be ceasing from work, worry and performance.
  • It could be resting physically, emotionally, mentally and relationally.
  • It could be embracing fun, God’s love, God’s word or a walk in the majesty of God’s creation.
  • It could feasting with friends and family, and on God’s glory and goodness.

Join an Immerse Small Group!

This fall, let God transform you as you experience the Bible in a new way through Immerse. Immerse is an invitation to discover God’s story by stepping into it. By reading large chunks of the Bible at a time, having in-depth discussions with one another, and hearing literary and historical perspectives each Sunday, we encounter God’s story, our story, in a whole new way. This will be the fourth year we have done this 8-week Immerse adventure together, and the practice has been transformative!

Beginning at the end of September, we will experience Immerse-Prophets. We will encounter the stories of the first testament prophets in groupings that generally represent four periods in history: before the fall of Israel (the northern kingdom), before the fall of Judea (the southern kingdom) around the time of Jerusalem’s destruction, and after the return from exile. We will see how determined God is to continuously call wayward people back to himself. We will hear the prophets relentlessly remind the people (including us) of God’s true calling. And we will experience the hope for the future when God redeems and restores his people and the whole world, even through the darkness of exile and the loss of land and home.

More than a Building

“Generation after generation stands in awe of your work; each one tells stories of your mighty acts.” Psalm 145:4 The Message

Dear members and friends of Restoration,
Since the beginning when God called us to start Restoration, we firmly believed it was and still is to make Jesus central and the center of all we do, joining with him to transform communities. We watched and joined in seeing him transform our lives, our workplaces, our schools and our cities. We have baptized dozens of teens, young adults and adults, who proclaimed their faith and joined Jesus’ church. We have dedicated dozens of babies who have become elementary and middle school students!

God is still working and writing stories of new generations praising Jesus and participating in His Church and you can be part of helping write more stories.

This summer God orchestrated what we couldn’t have strategized: the purchase of a church building two miles south of County Road 42 on Cedar Avenue. We feel confident that this is the right building, in the right place, at the right time and for the right reasons.

A church building is not the goal, but it is a tool to reach and equip new generations to praise Jesus and participate in His Church.

To join in:

  • Pray and participate in our building fundraising campaign HERE.
  • Attend a special congregational meeting for the building purchase and the 2022-23 budget on Sunday, September 11, immediately following the 5:15 PM worship service in accordance with the church constitution and bylaws.

Thank you to all of you who have participated and partnered with us in the past and present. We look forward with hope on how you will help us into our future.

With deep gratitude and joy,
Pastor Rob

There’s no time like the present to set up online giving. Online tithing is a way to remain faithful in your giving regardless of worshipping with us in-person or online. Decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need. We encourage you to consider giving online so that your giving is regular and easy to manage – it’s easy to sign up HERE. You can also Text to Give by texting any dollar amount to 84321.
