Hello Restoration Family,

I’m Daniel Morgenstern the Restoration Student Director and Small Group Coordinator. I have served on staff for just a little less than two and a half years and on December 3, I’m stepping down from staff with some sadness but determination to follow Jesus where He is leading. I want to stress that it has been a hard decision to make as I have really grown in this role and had great experiences with the graciousness and care of Rob, the staff, and the rest of the Restoration family. I have always appreciated this church as a place of love, authenticity, and growth.

I have every confidence in the leadership of Restoration and have seen the Holy Spirit at work in this place. That is why though I will no longer be a professional servant here I have every intention of remaining and continuing to serve in what I consider my spiritual home.  I love Restoration and the people that comprise it and no change in status or proximity will shake that.

Other than continuing to follow Jesus I am not certain of what my future holds. I don’t have a next job lined up and I’m not even sure if I will be looking for one right away.  I just knew that I needed to move on and beginning to move on in my mind while remaining on staff would have been wrong.

If you want to hear more about my decision to step down, help pray with me for the future, share some advice or appreciation, or just need a friend to cry with I’m happy to meet with you. My professional obligation and allocated time available may be changing but my heart for the people here isn’t. In other words in the future I may not be able to tell you where that thing you’re looking for is in the storage room (I wasn’t ever very good at that anyway) but I would be more than glad to chat with you about life, troubles, and how to better pursue Jesus.

I’ll always be your spiritual brother and friend. You’ll see me around and I love you. God Bless Restoration.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSE

Pastor Rob, the Leadership Team, the staff and our students are grateful for the spirit, character and integrity Daniel has shown throughout his time of leading and serving at Restoration. Calling and discernment are vitally important in these times and we are thankful Daniel sought God and godly people in this decision. We pray for God’s blessing as Daniel continues to seek the Lord for his next steps. As a faith family, we ask you to pray for him, even as he has so faithfully prayed for Restoration and Restoration students.

Please be in prayer for our Leadership and staff as we discern our way forward and continue to join Jesus in restoring communities. Our Leadership Team will take some time to pause, pray and listen for God’s direction before we decide our next steps.  Please pray with us! If you have prayers, ideas, questions or concerns, please send a message to the leadership team or call the church.

We are thankful to Daniel for his heart, his leadership, his care and his love for us.
