At Restoration Church, we’re driven by a deep commitment to living out our core values and fulfilling our mission to “be a community of people being restored by Jesus to bring hope to the world.” As we take this significant step in adding a second church service, we understand that questions may arise. This FAQ section is designed to provide clarity on our journey, the upcoming changes, and how they align with our mission and values. Your curiosity and engagement are greatly appreciated as we embark on this exciting new chapter together, rooted in the principles that guide us.

Why are we going to two services?

We have decided to implement two services because we have encountered several capacity challenges related to our current single-service offering. Specifically, we have maxed out our kids’ ministry spaces, and our parking lot has been consistently full. By introducing a second service, we aim to alleviate these capacity issues and ensure a more comfortable and accommodating experience for both our children and attendees.

When is Restoration going to two services?

We are targeting October 29, 2023, as our first Sunday with two services. Mark your calendars, and we look forward to seeing you there!

What will be the service days and times of the two services?

Both services will be held on Sunday mornings, but the specific times are still being discussed. We are working to finalize the schedule to accommodate the needs and preferences of our Restoration community. Stay tuned for further updates on the service times.

Will there be a difference between the services? (i.e. traditional vs. contemporary)

No, there will not be a difference between the services. Both services will maintain the same format as they are today. We aim to provide a consistent worship experience for everyone, regardless of which service you choose to attend.

What are the expectations for those serving on Sundays?

Expectations for those serving on Sundays may vary depending on the ministry team they are a part of. Each ministry team has its own set of expectations, which will be communicated through that team’s ministry leader. If you’re interested in joining a Serve Team, we encourage you to connect with the ministry leader of the specific team you are interested in to learn more about how you can get involved.

Can children attend classes during both services if parents serve at both services? (i.e. Tech or Worship)

Yes, children are welcome to attend classes during both services if their parents are serving at both services, such as in roles like Tech or Worship. However, please note that the lesson content will be the same for both services. We want to ensure that children have access to our educational programs while parents serve the church community.

Will there be time before and after service to connect with other people?

Yes, there will be dedicated time before and after the service for connecting with fellow church members and visitors. We encourage you to arrive a bit early or stay a little later to enjoy meaningful conversations and build connections with others in our Restoration community.

Will there still be coffee and donuts?

Yes, we will continue to provide coffee and donuts for our church community to enjoy during the new Sunday morning worship services. It’s a wonderful opportunity for connection and refreshments.

Can I attend either service on any given Sunday?

Absolutely! You are welcome to attend either service on any given Sunday, based on your preference or schedule. We want to ensure that our church community has the flexibility to worship and connect in a way that best suits their needs. We want to work to do our best to balance the attendance for both services.

Will there be children’s classes during both services?

Yes, we are pleased to announce that we will be offering Restoration Kids classes for all age groups during both Sunday services. This ensures that families have the opportunity to worship together and that children can enjoy age-appropriate learning and activities in a safe and nurturing environment.

Will both services be streamed online?

Yes, both services will be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube. Only one service will be archived on our website.

Will there be two services for the Children’s Christmas Program?

We are currently preparing for our Annual Christmas Program and have not made a decision about how many performances there will be. We will coordinate with parents and share an update when it is appropriate.

How can I get involved or volunteer during this new season?

You can get involved and make a meaningful contribution by joining one of our Serve Teams. To get started, simply connect with Micaella Sipe, our Ministry Director. She would love to learn more about your gifts and abilities and help you find the right team to serve with.

What should I do if I have additional questions or suggestions about adding a 2nd worship service?

If you have additional questions or valuable feedback about the new service, we encourage you to connect with a member of our Two Services Task Force. You can approach them on Sunday mornings in person, or you can reach out via email to Christa Young or Kate Alter. They are here to assist and gather your input to make the worship experience even better.
